When Your Past Comes Knocking, Scene #01

When Kayla (Spencer Bradley) answers the door, it's her brother Adam (Billy Boston) who is knocking. They haven't seen each other in a long time, so she is ecstatic that he came to visit. But Adam isn't as laid back as Kayla when he says he's just dropping over to say farewell. He seems nervous as he tells us that he wanted to live off the grid for a bit in order to start again after losing his job and finding that things aren't going well for him. Kayla worries about Adam and is confused. When she presses for more information, he stays evasive, raising the possibility that his bad luck may be more complicated than he's admitting. Adam is reluctant to stay with Kayla for a while, but in the end, Kayla persuades him. A few weeks later, when Kayla and Adam are kicking back in the living room, an intimidating man (Derrick Pierce) bursts through the door, his gritty eyes displaying pure, deliberate evil. The man appears to be searching for Adam, much to Kayla's surprise. Adam acts scared of the man right away and says he was going to phone him. Adam has lost his job, but it also becomes very evident that he has become involved with the wrong kind of individuals. Kayla makes an effort to talk sense out of the man, promising him her paintings and cars—anything she can to clear Adam's record. Sadly, the man refuses to bite. Adam will have to accompany him and make alternative arrangements for payment if he is unable to recoup the money owing to him. In a desperate attempt to keep Adam safe, Kayla has one last thought. Offering to have sex with him in exchange for Adam's freedom, she starts to seduce the man. The man concurs, but Adam is not allowed to leave the room as the man fucks Kayla; instead, the man makes sure Adam remains in the room to witness. Adam watches from the sidelines, feeling embarrassed about the mess he's made, while the man and Kayla engage in passionate, passionate sex on the couch.
