Consummating The Marriage, Scene #01

While an older guy named Roger sits silently opposite Dahlia (Jane Wilde), she is closely examining a contract. Dahlia is leafing through the pages in a businesslike manner, but there is definitely tension between them. It soon becomes clear that Roger is her parent and that, as he approaches retirement, he has given Dahlia the billion-dollar corporation. However, there's a catch... Since Dahlia is a lesbian, Roger, a man with outdated beliefs, won't sign over the company until Dahlia gets married and has a sexual relationship with a male, with the hope that Dahlia will have an heir. They have therefore drafted a contract, to which Dahlia must consent if she is to maintain her opulent way of living. However, Dahlia has a defiant sparkle in her eyes as she signs the documents at last. A few weeks later, Dahlia visits Roger with her new spouse Rick (Dante Colle) to prove she's kept her end of the bargain. Though Roger doesn't seem to notice or care, it's obvious that their marriage is merely for convenience; he is only interested in getting his demands fulfilled. Given Dahlia's previous defiance, Roger DOES detect that something is wrong when she asserts with ease that they had consummated their marriage. Dahlia then casually offers, should Roger not believe her, to let him witness them commit the crime once more. Roger takes Dahlia up on her offer to watch them rather than pretending that she's making a joke out of it since, in the end, he has bigger goals than his discomfort. He has no idea that he's giving Dahlia and Rick the upper hand.
