Elena (Eliza Eves) is frantically looking for her cell phone in the living room. Then, claiming she left the phone in the kitchen, her stepfather Nate (Ryan Driller) walks into the room carrying the missing phone. She expresses gratitude to him and anxiously checks her phone, but she appears let down when there are no new messages. It's Valentine's Day, and Elena claims that her lover hasn't gotten in touch with her in the last two days. She becomes agitated, questioning what went wrong.
